Erebus + Terror
a play with University of Waterloo School of Architecture Class of 2016

Role: Art Director
Supervisor: T. E. Winton

Every summer, the second-year class at Waterloo Architecture produces, writes, and performs a play for their Cultural History course. This year, the class was challenged to re-imagine and combine Mary Shelley's original 1818 version of Frankenstein with Captain John Franklin's infamous 1848 voyage to the Canadian Arctic.

Erebus & Terror is the story of Captain John Franklin’s doomed expedition to the Canadian Arctic in search of the Northwest Passage. The crew is suffering from their isolation in this hostile environment; their ships are trapped in the ice, food is scarce, and the cold is unrelenting. In the darkness of the long Arctic winter, a dying stranger arrives with his terrible story.
